pareidoli-a-matic is based on the word pareidolia which means, a phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus being perceived as significant. like seeing jesus in a tree. or in a cheeto, (cheesus...)
this album is a collection of recordings from eugene and my new place in portland. it's sorta experimental pop, primarily vocal based songs. if you'd like to hear it there are a couple samples posted "blue spider" and "gave birth to a lemur". if you wanna hear all 41mins, post you e-mail address and i'll send you a zip with mp3's inside, along with cover art.

Comment by brady beard on January 21, 2010 at 10:16am - beautiful soundscape. i really enjoy your work on this album. great experimental techniques and worth spinning again and again. i'm a delay geek (DL4, MXR analog, ibanez analog) and really enjoy the details that went into this album, on that level. i would love to hear more (does the ingredients band live performance have these elements?). thank you for putting your art before your financial profit.

Ha ha...I had no idea a Powershot could do that!
Thanks! I actually shot this with a Canon Powershot A630, so no special lenses. But for a point-and-shoot it's got a ton of great features, like being able to manual focus as close as 1 cm from the lens.
This is really cool. What type of lens did you use? It looks almost microscopic.
