Seems like everyone is "going green". Saving the environment as well as saving money long term is a goal to keep in mind. MDM has decided to do its part by purchasing LED (Light Emitting Diode) lighting technology. This type of lighting drastically uses less power than older convention lights/bulbs. It is also great for venues and clubs who are using all the available power for sound, but still need to upgrade their current lighting rig. We use led panels, par 36 leds, & par 64 leds in our rental systems along with hybrid intelligent moving lights to create an individual style and look to your performance or event.

Some facts to think about...

A conventional par 64 running a standard bulb uses 500 watts or 4.17 amps. This type of light requires color gels to get a desired effect. To accomplish the same color mix as the led counterpart you need 3 par64s, using a total of 1,500 watts or 12.5 amps. Average bulb life is 2,000hrs and cost approximately $17 for each bulb.

An led par 64 has 181, 10mm leds using a mere 30 watts or .25 amps. With "infinite color" mixing, every color is at your disposal. The led bulb life is an amazing 100,000hrs. Not only that, but you can strobe in any color. The list continues... Leds produce virtually no heat, which means added comfort for performers and closer placement for architectural lighting.

Yeah the Powershot is a great camera. Rivals most pro SLR's in my opinion. Check out the CHDK firmware hack for canons. It's amazing what all these cameras can do. Shoot in RAW format, custom shooting scripts for anything from EV bracketing to high-…

Thanks! I actually shot this with a Canon Powershot A630, so no special lenses. But for a point-and-shoot it's got a ton of great features, like being able to manual focus as close as 1 cm from the lens.

This is really cool. What type of lens did you use? It looks almost microscopic.
