Rachel Sexton my life as the artist

I've spent the better part of my life trying to figure myself out, who
I am, why I like what I like, what it is that I'm going to ultimately
become.

I've spent more time in the past and in the future than living
in the present, essentially I daydream my life away (and enjoy doing
so). I'm contrary to the confides of ordinary, and knowingly so. So
what should I care if one dares to compare me,to something, anything,
that I haven't yet come to see for myself… Continue

Rachel Sexton The Truth Hurts a little

The truth is

a long story about hypocrisy

the truth is

thousands upon thousands of years in the making

the truth is disguised

so we all eat these lies

and I ask myself, "what are we thinking"?

Truth heals these wounds

(but sometimes death is the compromise)

the truth tells a story

that most will deny

the truth is a story,

not everyone survives.

Adam E. Stewart New short story: "The Marker"

The Marker

The dusty shadow left on the wall where Jake’s Slayer poster had been was as good as anything to stare at while Julia waited. Death metal was of Jake’s taste, and certainly not of hers, and more than a couple fights had been triggered by his stubbornness with the radio and her irritable mood. Yet any poster would have been nicer than that empty gray box, which haunted the wall like a visual echo, or a chalk outline of the most recently departed chapter of her

The Grace Project And so it begins!

Thursday marked the official first day of The GRACE Project. After months of planning and preparation, we did our first art class with Open House Family Shelter and it was so much fun! There were six girls ranging in ages 6 to 12. Our first week we did collage; most of the kids had never had the pleasure of cutting and pasting paper to create beautiful works of art. But they all

ALex Lee Kites is a Bollywood movie

To date, the Ridley and Russell reunion tour has coaxed a mere $66.1m (£46m) from audiences across the pond. That's small change for a tentpole release these days – especially one that reportedly cost $200m – and Robin Hood will do well to creep past $100m before the theatrical cycle comes to a close. But studio heads know that even when a movie disappoints in the domestic market, they can, if the ci… Continue

I'd say keep working until you feel more confident in your final product. There is no point in taking something you aren't proud of to a gallery. There are a lot of ways to improve your work. Of course the main way is to practice. But here are so…
