Live Music
Hello. My name is Gordon. I live music. I was pretty much going to start this discussion to get a feel for how strongly everyone here is into music and the "scene". What seen? Well tell me! I play a lot in Portland. Houses, bars, venues; but not so much in Vancouver. I know there are bands playing in Vancouver I'm just not in one of them or free enough to go check them out. Is there need for a more steady stream of events in Vancouver, or are they even attended well at this stage? Begin discussion.

I think the problem is lack of venues of reasonable quality. I really believe if Vancouver had some spots with the right amount of space and equipment, the crowds (and money) would be there. Which would in turn bring in more well known traveling acts that usually stop in Portland and don't give a second thought to Vancouver. Once we can accomplish that, then we have a "legit" music scene and people will come to see the great local bands, and the established touring bands.
Just a couple thoughts,anyone else?

Ha ha...I had no idea a Powershot could do that!
Thanks! I actually shot this with a Canon Powershot A630, so no special lenses. But for a point-and-shoot it's got a ton of great features, like being able to manual focus as close as 1 cm from the lens.
This is really cool. What type of lens did you use? It looks almost microscopic.
