Hey Olin, let me know when you guys pick a time for musicians to play. I'm actually off work this Saturday, and would love to drop by again for some playing.
Hope to hear that husband/wife duo that went o after Rebecca again too lol I can't remember their names, if you remember, let me know. Thanks man

For all artists interested in showing work at upcoming exhibitions: Start getting a body of work together now, ideally with some sort of loose similarity of style. Get your pieces ready to present...all hanging hardware installed, framing/matting, price tags, update your g-m profile with the work and prices, etc.
The only real requirement for the shows is that the work must be a bit edgy...not interested in showing still life, landscape, traditional realism, etc. Although there will be shows with a more classical art theme every once and a while...there are already plenty of galleries showing that type of work.
If you are planning on prepping a body of work for an upcoming show, msg me so we can meet up and I can properly promote your exhibition.
Awesome, thanks for describing what you are looking for. Keep me updated when there is a show that might work with a more classical theme. Though, I do think classical can be very edgy, if done correctly.
I'm going to go ahead and offer Mon Ami up to host something like this...but I think our next opening on the artist list is July-ish...and I want to see another one of these happen sooner than that- so yeah...maybe the 4th or 5th collaborative event can happen at Mon Ami!
But anyhoo...hmmm...themes...it would be neat to have a really organized single art piece that all of the visual artists work together on- like individual panels...and then at the show they get hung up to create one giant piece...like a big street scene of fourth plain...or hell...lets just have a collaborative show of actual places in vancouver...cook's choice...everyone picks their own place in vancouver...i think that would be fun to look at...but I don't know how to make that more "collaborative"...argh...this is tough...
I love that idea, and a few months notice gives artists plenty of time to get prepared for it. I would love to paint one of my favorite places in the 'Couve and be part of a collab project set for this summer.

Thursday marked the official first day of The GRACE Project. After months of planning and preparation, we did our first art class with Open House Family Shelter and it was so much fun! There were six girls ranging in ages 6 to 12. Our first week we…
Yeah the Powershot is a great camera. Rivals most pro SLR's in my opinion. Check out the CHDK firmware hack for canons. It's amazing what all these cameras can do. Shoot in RAW format, custom shooting scripts for anything from EV bracketing to high-…
Thanks! I actually shot this with a Canon Powershot A630, so no special lenses. But for a point-and-shoot it's got a ton of great features, like being able to manual focus as close as 1 cm from the lens.
